We removed our crampons and climbed down the crumbly rock of Disappointment Cleaver. At the bottom of the cleaver, the route traverses a dangerous area exposed to much rockfall from above, and then heads back south across the Ingraham Glacier. The shattered state of the Ingraham Icefall is clearly visible ahead of us, and at one location an aluminum ladder had been placed by the guide service to bridge a particularly impassable crevasse.
