We ascended northeast across the upper Sitkum Glacier to a saddle just north of Sitkum Spire (9355 ft), which separates it from the steep, heavily crevassed Scimitar Glacier. The spire and the crevassed edge of the Scimitar are at left, with Mounts Baker and Shuksan in the distance beyond the snowy peaks of the Cascade Pass region.
