As we continued down the Sulphide Glacier, the snow underfoot was softening greatly in the warm sun. This view looks back up at the summit pyrmaid from near 7000 ft along the west edge of the Sulphide. We plunge-stepped our way back down to camp, packed up our tents, and hauled ourselves back to the trailhead by early evening. I felt a great sense of satisfaction, since completing this climb fulfilled my final requirement for graduation from the Mountaineers' Basic Climbing Course. Mount Shuksan by this simple but scenic route will always be a favorite of mine.
