We scrambled up the central gully, belaying several of the less experienced members of the party up one short but steep section. We climbed leftward out of the top of the gully onto the summit ridge. As I looked left and down towards ice-covered Lake Ann, I saw my shadow falling on some wispy clouds below, surrounded by a rainbow-like halo known as a glory.
