We traversed to the left, making an end run past the western end of the bergschrund, and kicked steps up through the Pearly Gates towards the summit. We reached the top at 1 PM, after climbing for about half an hour past the bergschrund. Here I am moments after reaching the summit, quite happy to have shed my cumbersome pack.
