The night was clear, calm, and perfect. However, the majestic partially-moonlit panorama made sleeping difficult. Just before dawn, I snapped this photo from my sleeping bag, looking out at Wizard Island. Thirty feet in front of me, the snow slope drops away steeply over 1000 ft to the lake surface below.
