We unroped and removed our crampons at the saddle, since the rest of the climb followed a long ridge of pumice and ash to the summit. Unfortunately, this ridge was snowfree now in midsummer, and the wind whipped ash into our eyes and mouths as we climbed. Looking back down the ridge we again see Sitkum Spire, the saddle, and the Scimitar Glacier.Trip Introduction | Previous Page | Next Page
