The best part of the whole climb was the nearly complete solitude. Despite it being a beautiful summer weekend, from the time we left camp before dawn until we were descending the pumice ridge from the summit, we did not see a single other person. I used the very lightweight (1.5 oz / 45 grams), very useful REI Ultrapod micro-tripod to shoot this self-timer summit photo of the three of us, with Mounts Baker and Shuksan again barely visible in the distance.Trip Introduction | Previous Page | Next Page
