View of Shasta from the North
After packing our gear into the car, we set off towards our next objective, Mount McLoughlin in Oregon. Driving north on US 97 towards Klamath Falls, there are stunning views of the northeast side of Shasta, which is certainly it's most aesthetic and beautiful aspect. Unfortunately, the clouds were thickening greatly, obscuring many details of the upper slopes in this photo. Nevertheless, driving was difficult since I was constantly staring at the HUGE image of Shasta in my rear view mirrors! Exhausted after three straight days of climbing and skiing, we checked into a motel in Klamath Falls just before the rain started, and hoped that the weather would improve for our McLoughlin ski trip the next day.
