McLoughlin is deserted compared to more well-known Cascade volcanoes. We hadn't seen a single other person all day, even at the trailhead. So I fastened my camera to a pair of skis planted in an A-frame in the snow (for stability in the slight breeze), and took this timer summit photo with Mount Shasta in the distance. Below us, a thick cloud layer was continuously streaming by from west to east, and evaporating as it hit the drier air east of the Cascade Crest.
