As I ascended past the Lunch Counter, I felt exhausted, but caught my second wind above 10000 ft (3000 m). When I reached the false summit, several members of the party who had already returned from the summit were lounging in the warm sun. I continued on across a saddle to the final summit slope, passing several others who were descending. I felt quite strong now, and finally reached the summit at 3 pm. Here Mount Hood is visible to the south, with the snows of the true summit (12307 ft, 3751 m) just in front of me.Trip Introduction | Previous Page | Next Page
