After watching the sunrise and having breakfast at Crater Lake, we drove north towards Diamond Lake on Highway 230. Soon Mount Thielsen loomed high overhead. This view shows the southwest face directly below the summit. Our ski route would descend the highest line of continuous snow below and right of the summit pyramid.
